Achievement is high and improving: Median achievement increased from the 72nd percentile (Fall) to the 73rd percentile (Winter), showing continued upward performance. Strong concentration of high achievers: About 68% of students are above the 61st percentile in Winter reading, with 34% performing above the 80th percentile among 65 students. Grade 2 demonstrates strong growth but softening achievement: Median growth is high at the 67th percentile, yet achievement declined from 71st (Fall) to 53rd (Winter), suggesting progress without proportional gains in proficiency. Based on the 2024 & 2025 CA School Dashboards, JCS-Cedar Cove is a “Middle” Performing charter school. Charter renewal evaluation for Middle Performing charter schools is based on verified data and the schools ability to show students achieving a year of growth each year. Middle Performing charter schools may be renewed for a 5-year term.
